Can Solid Surface be considered lightweight?

We've read in catalogs and heard from salespeople that Solid Surface is lightweight... but is it really? At Indutec Solid, the standard sheet we work with is Krion, 12 mm thick, measuring 3680 mm long by 760 mm wide, and it weighs around 58 kg, which gives us an approximate density of 1750 kg/m³.

Indutec Solid is participating in the TABIOL project, led by AIDIMME.

The TABIOL project will develop boards for furniture and construction using biomass and textile waste. The project, funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) for the 2022–2024 period, aims to produce boards from hydrochar obtained through the hydrothermal carbonization of waste materials.
