In 2022, our team at Indutec Solid, in collaboration with KROMA Atelier, completed the Turandot acoustic cabinets project in Madrid. This project stands out due to its impressive height of 181 cm and substantial weight of 208 kg, reflecting a precise design created in TopSolid. The cabinets are crafted from Krion Snow White, natural veneers, and a range of innovative materials including carbon fibers and metallic laminates, ensuring both exceptional aesthetics and top-notch acoustic quality. Each component has been designed and assembled to meet the highest technical and aesthetic standards, resulting in a final product that combines craftsmanship with advanced technology.
Collaborating with KROMA Atelier on the Turandot acoustic cabinets project was both rewarding and successful. The client relationship was outstanding, demonstrating great flexibility and responsiveness to our specific needs. An interesting aspect of the project was the development of a specialized tool for handling and rotating the cabinets due to their significant weight and volume. For transport, metal-mounted wheels were added to the base, which were removed once the cabinets were positioned in their final location. Robust anti-vibration feet were then installed to adjust the height and ensure stability. This project highlights Indutec Solid’s ability to manage complex challenges and deliver exceptional results in partnership with clients and collaborators.

In crafting the Turandot acoustic cabinets, we began with precise design work in TopSolid, defining the shapes and dimensions of each piece. Krion Snow White was machined using the Biesse Rover B for both flat and curved surfaces. Termoforming was carried out on molds to create the necessary curves, followed by a second machining process on 5 axes to achieve the final finish. Manual sanding with 2000-grit paper ensured a flawless surface, and the golden logos were finished with transparent epoxy resin for an elegant touch. Additionally, epoxy inlays and metallic laminates were applied meticulously to enhance both aesthetics and functionality. The cabinets were packaged in phenolic plywood and protected with Ethafoam to ensure they arrived in perfect condition. Each step of the process, from material transformation to final preparation, reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence in high-fidelity acoustic product design.
